Wow, So I started reading the Bible in 90 days with my church...and it's like crazy interesting!
Yeah, I feel like the inquizitive Sunday school kid i was growing up because I am constantly full of more and more questions.
Why the blog: My friend Jamie from work told me yesterday after my first day of reading that I need to speak with my pastor about all my feelings about God. She thought I was trying to humanize God and I might have been freaking her out...and this morning when I was telling her about Abraham and Isaac she said that I need to write a book about my adventure in Bible reading because I make the Bible sound like a Harry Potter novel....so here it goes...feel free to answer my questions...but be nice!
Genesis: Wow that book sure covers alot of territory...and the God of the New Testiment versus the Old is quite different. Not to be sacreligious or anything but God in the Old Testment is scary...like how he favored Abel because he brought him steak...take that vegetarians!..Cain's strength was agriculture...and all the testing! Noah's Ark it seemed like God kind of apologized to Noah for the flood...the tower of Babel, Sodom and Gomorrah gross what happened to those people...and Angels... Really!?....Really?! Yuck!....Lot's nasty hoe daughters uh that's ur Dad Eeww! Man people have this idea of the Bible being full of strict doctorine and the Peter Frampton looking Jesus with butterflies and bunny rabbits but it's chock full of violence, suffering, war, death, greed, deceit, fire, hunger, heartache, birth, renewal, sin, murder, anger, loyalty and love...and that's within the first 24 pages.
